Does your organisation have access to NHS patient data or systems? Or are you tendering for a project that will involve them? Then you will need to complete the NHS Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit.
The toolkit assures the NHS that you are practising good data security and personal information is being handled correctly. For example, what you are doing to keep people’s information safe.
The NHS DSPT Toolkit is an online self-assessment tool. It allows organisations to measure their performance against the ten data security standards of the UK government’s National Data Guardian.
Each year requirements are reviewed and updated to make sure the toolkit is following best practice. You need to fill in the assessment every year, before the end of March. Not doing so means you will no longer be able to access NHS data.
It can be daunting to fill in the NHS DSP Toolkit, especially the first time around. We have a wealth of experience in helping private and charity sectors complete their NHS DSP Toolkit. Our support is tailored to fit your organisation’s particular needs, whether it’s your first submission or an annual resubmission.
If the toolkit submission reveals non-compliance, you must put policies, procedures and training in place. We can guide and support you, increasing the likelihood you pass your next assessment.
We offer a free 30-minute consultation. After that, we can supply a quote for our support. Just get in touch on tel:07534258800 or samantha@dunwelldataprotection.co.uk
